But...why?

Does the code compile smaller?

Does the compiled code execute faster?

Is the compiled code more memory safe?

Are the libraries robust and plentiful?

I get it if you like to learn programming languages like people like to learn spoken languages, or learn different forms of woodcraft.

But for those of us who use programming as a means to accomplish things, what would motivate someone to spend their time picking this up?
