Welcome to another write up of Divi’s Live at 5. You can find the video here.

Nick was excited ab out another productive week, and I can attest to that. But first let’s look at some numbers he went over

Numbers

Beta Wallet Sign ups

Getting close to 12,000 sign ups — if you have not done so, sign up at diviwallet.com

New Masternode All Time High.

At the time of this writing, we gained an additional 2 since the live chat with Nick. Here is how it looks at the moment.

Last month was plagued with some issues with Digital Ocean, one of the companies that hosts the MOCCI validators for us. That is why only some of the validators had some issues. Divi and DOworked hard together and now the issues have been resolved.

What’s interesting about our network is that we have different tiers with different amounts of collateral to set up. If we only had copper there’d be 9,500 nodes in total. That is another way of poinmting out that Over 900,000,000 Divi is locked up in master nodes. Divi is extremely de-centralized, extremely secure. It is very difficult to achieve that level on other networks.

Development News

Desktop wallet

The new desktop wallet is in with the beta bashers. I can attest to that. We are looking to push out this new wallet mid next week. There are new features, beautiful and exciting. I wish I could share what I see in it here.

Mobile Wallet

I myself, and a half dozen other beta bashers are testing out the new alpha version of the IOS wallet. We are covering onboarding, setup, settings, profile pictures, Face ID among other things. As a personal note, I am more jazzed about the imminent release than ever. While this wallet incorporates some basic crypto-centric functionality (send, receive, recover etc), the new stuff it does, some of which can ONLY be done on the Divi blockchain, or only because Divi’s vision includes fintech services, is truly something to behold. I am confident you are going to like this. Best news yet:

Still on track for November Beta Release 1 release of Divi Wallet 2.0

Siege Worlds

As our community knows Siege Worlds is a video game being products by Games Interactive, a company Nick and Geoff invested heavily into. Alpha Demo ready in next couple of weeks. Video available on YouTube video.

Nick played a little video of flying through Siege Worlds to a suprise.

I’m not sure if Nick has looked into following up on his acting career, but his false suprise when a RiDivi (Divi’s fintech) was in the world was funny.

Chalk

Chalk is Nick’s Divi powered side project. Chaulk finished first week of Beta testing — go to chalkapp.co to help test and get free money for helping.

Guest — Brain Colwell

Live at 5 will now be featuring guests.

Brian Colwell, a.k.a. CryptoHobbit just joined the Divi team as a writer. He wrote the blog post on the fourth industrial revolution on www.divi.blog.org.

Brian came on the show with excitement and some weird hand thingy and mouth noises. I’m not sure what that was, but clearly he is excited to be part of the Divi Team. I think it’s worth it to mention that he has written many crypto related articles and essays and has spent much of his career around investing and financial services. Instead of rehashing the discussion of the blog post, the reader can head over there.

AMA

Q. Has Divi considered taking Divi as a master node payment?

Nick — Yes, we’re working on it and it will be an option in the upcoming wallet.

Q. How long do you picture Divi being a part of your life for?

Nick — It’s hard to picture my life without Divi because it has become my whole life. Always my main focus. As long as possible.

Q. Does the amount of coins staked affect the rewards ratio?

Nick — yes, the more you stake, the more you earn. It’s always the same amount, 456, but the more you stake, the more you earn.

Q. Will Divi 2.0 integrate or implement credit card services later?

Nick — Debit cards, yes. Credit cards are a different system. Current licences doesn’t allow for fractional reserve banking. Not on the current roadmap though partnership not impossible.

Q. Does a certain country need a physical branch to remit Divi?

Nick — No, could be to another company.

Nick loves the community!
