Finally, a lucid article on the subject of quantum computers and quantum supremacy. I hold the same opinion as you about this, but it’s not a popular one because it is not outlandish, such as “Quantum computers will break all encryption next year” or the converse, “Quantum computers will never be a useful technology”, both of which I hear often.

I am the CTO of a Kloke, a company that provides quantum computer safe data storage solutions (without relying on encryption which we consider to be speedbumps in the struggle against QC infiltration), so we have been having this discussion with people for quite some time. This subject is a bit like Y2K, in that our computing and data storage infrastructure must change to accomodate QCs, but unlike Y2K there is not a specific date for it.

Thank you for writing the most correct, level-headed article on the subject that I have seen.
