I don't know why I keep reading anti-capitalist screeds, even from writers i like and respect. In every case, the complaints are fired at the thing they call capitalism, but the details are NEVER capitalism.
When you hav e a set of rulers (reagan, Thetcher, Bush, Obama, Clinton, whatever) designing, defining, organizing, and facilitation the means of transfer of capital....you do not have capitalism, you have quite the opposite.
So when you complain about the edicts of these psychos in power, the failings they always produce, the suffering they always cause, by economic extraction followed by wealth distribution all in the name of "Social welfare" or "jobs" or whatever makes people happy, you will always get the list of complaints you have in this article.
The problem isn't capitalism, it's state control of economy, which you like to conflate as capitalism. Preventing soveriegn countries from producing a vaccine is not capitalism. The very defense of intellectual property (creating monopolies and cartels) is not capitalism. The control of the economy by a tiny group of mostly unelected people, is not capitalism.
The article becomes far more interesting if you delve into the the actual reasons for this ridiculous state of the world and actually chose not to use a word that has now become a meaningless bogeyman due to this conflation.
