Let me give you advice that a good boss of mine gave me.

Plans are worthless, planning is everything.

Everyone knows that the plan you make at the start is not the path you actually end up following.

Thats why managers ask the unanswerable.

I once had a bug i couldnt resolve for a week. I told him id have it the next day.

Answering this question is not a contract, its just a plan. Do your best to answer it, thinking about the compjnents you do know that must be done to complete it and move on.
