Meh. Author shows poor understanding of the mentioned sciences (they are ‘magic’ to him/her, so assumes it’s magic to us/we). Then then infers that this lack of understanding leads to misuse due to lost faith in knowledge while people throughout the ages have done stupid things with any sort of power.

Then of course the predictable blame of capitalism despite the fact that greed and power structures have been with humans since day one with stories about their misuse in all of history.

Meh.

Magic is claiming something happens without demonstrating repeatable predictions of how it works. Science is the opposite. Power is power. Foolishness is foolishness. They are not connected in the way the author tries to link.
