My allergy to fitness had me grow 35 pounds over my "correct" weight. My wife was super cool about it, but she mentioned it once in a while. Finally a good friend of mine was facing diabetes, and lost 40 lbs, then he convincingly told me I had to come along for the ride.

I used Noom and lost 35 lbs in about 3 months (he lost 70 over six month) , very positive experience. But I knew if I want to keep it off, I need constant goals. Small races, etc. But after a couple of months, I set my sites on a half ironman. Trained, trained, and now, 40 lbs down, wife and I use Ironman to travel. If there is somewhere we want to go, we do a half ironman there.

My friend and I are working on a new fitness platform that takes when we learned and how were found ourselves very successful. As we are unhappy with strava, and other platforms, as they are not very encouraging, but instead competitive. We think there is a better combination between social encouragement and competition, expertise and curiosity, tracking tools and goal setting tools than currently exists.
