Nah, looks like your friend is right.

1) you conflate how things work now with how things are working in the future. Thats because you have not spent any time actually looking into this. It's that same with medicine. You could also say "we will never cure cancer" yet currently, right now, we have cures and prophylactics for different kinds of cancer.

2) Plus, you don't need to know how they work in order to use them, if you get cancer, you can employ one of these methods. You don't need to know how crypto works to use crypto. Better projects are already building the backbone to compete with Paypal and Cashapp which operate on top of fiat. But projects like Divi are building on top of their blockchain making payments easy fast, and users dont need to know how crypto works are all. Most people don't know how engines wrk, yet drive a car every day.

3) fiat is volatile, but worse, fiat almost ALWAYS devalues becuase politcians "Create money out of thin air"... in the US, this is in amounts of TRILLIONS of dollars every year.

4) your last point is utterly ridiculous. the IMF and banking systems around the world have been used for decades and have left the people you are talking about wrought with debt and suffering. Those are the racist, deplorable systems. Crypto doesnt care at all where you are from. Better yet, other currencies have extremely low barriers to entry and we can pay people anywhere in the world, instantly for almost no money. It's a far better, far more effective way to inject capital into the places that need it most.
