(note: I just found this comment in my unpublished list. I totally thought I finished and posted it. If you think the horse it dead and doesnt need to be beaten any more I understand)
I believe that you have now read the comment. There is a LOT to unpack here, and the rate of spread of this story has now died down a bit. Plus I have had some time to think about it as well as read other comments to my post. So I will try to be as brief and on topic (men are 100% responsible for unwanted pregnancies) as possible.
So lets start with feminism and qualifications for it. Zero percent of your being a mother of 6 and a Mormon makes me think you are a feminist, nor does it disqualify you from being one. Writing an article blaming men for their part in a consenual act and writing a whole article trying to justify this preposterous position is what lead me to this conclusion. While there are a small minority of exceptions “feminist” usually doesnt define a person in their entirety. They may also be “vegan” or “cyclist” or “Mormon”. If you write an article that puts 100% of the blame on one of the two members in a consensual act due to his biological equipment and sociopolitical conditions outside of that act that favor him…I am lead to believe that in your writing of this article, you are taking a feminist position. I have no hatred to feminists or feminism (as it relates to equality, rather than retribution), which is why I think your article that defends the practice of removing agency and forcing vascectomies is not only counterproductive, but is outright dangerous.
I think your next question really delineates your blindness on what you are promoting and writing about. Or, perhaps you can explain to me: When you assign one person 100% of the responsibility of an action taken by two people, how are you assigning any responsibility to the other person? Does 100% mean something different to you that I am missing? Does “absolved” mean something different to you?
(I guess this is all I wrote at the time. But I’ll just end here)
