Sigh, go ahead look that up and then tell me how much of the delays and cost have anything at all to do with the tech...
I'll help, virtually none of it. The issue is all govt interference.
Yeah, Fukushima is a 40 year old design that was set to just down at its end of life, it had lived through earthquakes and was just fine. How many people died from Fukushima, what is the total effect on anything from that event right now? (answers: zero, none)
Seriously, you are speaking from ignorance and fear, not knowledge. Its impossible to believe that you actually want to solve climate issues when you just live in fear about the b best technology available to do it.
Nuclear WAS on the decline, again, Because of terrible government decisions, also based fear and not knowledge. Glad that trend is over, since 2012 (do you even read your links?).
Heck the reason that nukes were designed in the bad way they were, was also due to politics. Instead of safer, pebble bed designs (like on aircraft carriers), they chose the active systems... what? Because then they could manufacture plutonium. Always bad government decisions.
Th key is to get them out of the way of delay, cost, and conflicts of interest, and get modern designs out there. Get some repeatable designs out there. Then we don't have to cover entire hills with solar, only to have to do it again in the next hailstorm.
You will do well as a government worker, are you already one?
