"slavery with a stipend" Yeah? I'm unsure you understand what the term 'slavery' actually means, yet you are happy to sling it around like you actually have a valid opinion on this. Slavery is the ownership of another person. Please point to a single person who is owned by another person. When you forcefully take labor (i.e. threaten them with a whip) you are taking ownership of someone. If you forcefully take the product of their labor, you are taking ownership of their agency.
This is slavery, yet you completely confuse this with personal struggle. Your need to eat is not slavery. Your negotiation in voluntary contracts in order to meet your need to eat and have shelter are not slavery in any way.
The verbiage you are using is why there will never be progress, because you want to remove peoples individual agency, so they can not negotiate more beneficial terms for themselves. This is why regulations are what hold up progress and the ability to adapt. Its because people like you are trying to imbue a sense of jsutice in every part of the economy, instead of freeing the economy to let everyone participate in it equally.
