The first derivative is essentially constant (second derivative essentially 0). Meanwhile per capita emmissons are dropping. So will forcing people to limit their emmissions stop the rise? Current data says no, and wont have an effect for the foreseeable future.

Should we drop our emmissions profile? Yes! and are we? Yes! Should we do more? We are!

Should force people to comply in ways that prevent them from earning a living? From finding opportunities? from moving to and from places they need to go? Absolutely not.

the entire point of this article is that the small progress we have made so far, will snowball into far larger improvements as we go forward, create new economies, all without forcing people to do stuff.
