Sorry, but so what?

The best astronomy we have is coming from sattelites. There are digital solutions for cleaning up streaks from land based images. We are in a process of change, and astronomy will probably be moving to something that is space based. Governments and companies put spend enormous amounts of money to put equipment into orbit, they will work with each other to make sure their equipment doesnt get damage. Calling for regulation because you think the change is sad is totally unwarranted.
