(sorry I am bifurcating the comments) I act for the good of mankind as much as possible also. I just think empowering a tiny minority of self appointed elite to control millions of people is a terrible way to do it. There really isn't a condition where it makes sense that 600 people can possible work out what is best for 320 million people (that ratios is even worse in other countries). As they say, voting for a lesser evil, is still voting for evil.

I too believe in collective action... if it is voluntary and not mandated.
