Sorry, you spelled "will always " as "is never going to". Becuase your ENTIRE diatribe here falls apart from the ecological damage caused by fiat currency, or the worst one, the US dollar (never mind your seriously wrong presumptions about PoS, and the fact that other chains do NFTs at far lower costs).

The environmental damage of each dollar, in carbon emission, browfield generation, conversion of forest to road, displacement of garbage, human death (direct and indirect) FAR, FAR exceed that damage caused by bitcoin. Thats ignoring the fact, that PoW happens usually where production is over serving the usage, like Hydro and geothermal, thats ignoring.

When you do a story on the environment cost of Art transacted in dollars...and discuss how a dollar has value (military, defense, conversion of resources in an economy, crony capitalism, and socialist safety nets), then maybe the rest of this article is readable.

As far as I can tell, we should drop fiat imediately, and use global currencies that are far less destructive, like Bitcoin or any other crypto.
