This is where you and every politician fails horribly. Your mindset is about forcing people to do things. Maybe it comes naturally since you are OK with forcing people to pay for things. I mean half your rant is about how great the police are by physically forcing people to comply.

If you changed your tune, made it more towards “facilitating access”, “dropping barriers”, or “inspiring change” and “providing alternatives” I doubt you would have as much opposition.

Do it without your penchant for “and taxpayers will fund it” and you will really be winning.
