The reason why capitalism no longer works is because we have less capitalism. In fact, what we clearly have is socialism hidden in corporatism and pretending that privatization doesnt mean granting monopolies in its current embodiment.
20,000 pages a day of federal regulation with its labeled putpose of “controlling corporations” should be viewed as “entrenching corporations “ since they are the ones writing them and they are designed to make it harder for the new guy to get in.
None of this is capitalism. Capitalism is the thing we left the second we had a federal income tax. Thats because, with it, you also lost local control. Now you literally cant resolve local issues in a local way, with local resources because both the bar is lower to get federal grants but the barriers to circumnavigate are also higher.
We should be asking to have capitalism back.
